Course Description
As people age they become more susceptible to falls, six people over the age of 65 years fall every minute in the UK and the repercussions can be devastating. Broken bones and reduced mobility are not the only results of fall. The fear of falling again can cause many people to retreat into social isolation which in fact can be more debilitating than the physical injuries that can occur.
As a result, falls are one of the most common reasons why an elderly person has to move into residential care.
This course will cover the risk factors and causes , assessment , managing and preventing people falling.
