Course Description
This will help learners develop their knowledge and understanding of dementia. It covers areas such as positive communication methods, use of medication in dementia care. Person-centred care, influence of and issues relating to, principles of caring for people with the condition.
The learning materials will provide learners of how to respond to behaviour that they may find ‘challenging’ in the most appropriate and supportive manner. Also an opportunity to explore the different forms of behaviour commonly seen in dementia care.
Candidates will also develop a greater understanding of meaningful activities to people with dementia, and the benefits associated with facilitating or providing this Care.
